Dairy or Dates? Dates are the fruit of the date palm tree, which is grown in many tropical regions of the world. Very few people are allergic to this fruit. Dairy: milk, yogurt, and cheese are great sources of calcium. New York State is the 3rd largest producer of milk.

Slide Mountain - the highest peak in the Catskills, reaching 4,190 feet in elevation.
Slide Mountain wasn’t identified as the Catskills' highest peak until the late 19th century. Renowned naturalist John Burroughs wrote of his memorable climbs up Slide Mountain, and it helped get the Catskills added to New York's Forest Preserve.
